They are in the form of a genealogy "up and down", including the ascendants of every spouse of the descendants. So, with about 17 500 marriages (dates and places), Familias da Ilha Terceira includes the genealogy of the major part of the families of the island Terceira. The researches in the archives of Angra allowed to complete the consultation of church records and books of genealogy, and to discover approximately 486 new genealogical data. They also allowed to know the civil, political and military events of the life of these people The first two volumes describe the family of Francisco Ferreira Dormonde and its 1st (volume I) e 2nd wife (volume II). Francisco Ferreira Dormonde lived in the East of the Terceira Island during the first half of the 17th century. He lived in Ribeira Seca, located between São Sebastião and Fonte Bastardo. Starting from São Sebastião and Quatro Ribeiras, the descendants of Francisco Ferreira Dormonde settled in most parishes of the Terceira Island, except the parish of Angra and its neighborhood (São Mateus and São Bento). These descendants are more than 4500, including the Ferreira Armond family of Brazil. The volume II describes also four families of the wives of the first Ferreira Ormonde : Sebastião Gato and Clarinda Machado, Antônio de Lemos de Faria, Manoel de Andrade Fagundes and Barbara de Oliveira Pereira, Angela Camelo and Domingos Fernandes. -------------------------------- Familias da Ilha Terceira é uma coleção em 6 volumes. Eles estão na forma de uma genealogia "up and down", incluindo ascendentes dos cônjugues. Assim, com aproximadamente 17 500 casamentos (datas e lugares), Familias da ilha Terceira, inclui genealogia da maioria das famílias da ilha Terceira. As pesquisas nos arquivos de Angra do Heroismo permitiram completar a consulta dos registos paroquais e dos livros de genealogia, e descobrir 486 ascendências novas até lá desconhecidas. Permitiram também de conhecer eventos da vida civil, politica e militar dessas pessoas. Os primeiros dois volumes descrevem a família de Francisco Ferreira Dormonde e seu 1º (volume eu) e 2ª esposa (volume II). Francisco Ferreira Dormonde vivia no leste da Ilha Terceira, durante a primeira metade do século XVII. A partir de São Sebastião e de Quatro Ribeiras, os descendentes de Francisco Ferreira Dormonde vão instalar-se na maior parte das paróquias da Ilha Terceira, a exeção das de Angra e sua proximidade (São Bento e São Matheus). Os descendentes dele são mais que 4500, inclusive a família Ferreira Armond do Brasil. O volume II também descreve quatro famílias das esposas dos primeiros Ferreira Ormonde : Sebastião Gato e Clarinda Machado, Antônio de Lemos de Faria, Manoel de Andrade Fagundes e Barbara de Oliveira Pereira, Angela Camelo e Domingos Fernandes.
