The Trailing Brake Shoe is an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) replacement shoe that should be installed on the rear brakes. The trailing, also referred to as the secondary brake shoe, faces away from the brake drum and creates the necessary friction that causes the vehicle to slow down and/or stop.
