I wanted to give you a book full of hope. So, when I first wrote it, I focused solely on what I thought people wanted to hear. I left out all my pain and the depth that each experience had given to me, and I made sure to keep it light and airy. So, it was no surprise when my first draft lacked authenticity and ended up being shallow, nauseating, and cliché. I needed to dig deeper and accept that part of my experience was dark. I realized that what may seem dark in visible light is bright in other places. We just need to adjust our perspective. Also, true darkness is a fixed point of empty, and the absence of all light, that has never existed in human form. We are Everything the Light Touches, including our dark and ugly voids…. So yes, this book will light the way, but also like the backdrop of midnight’s skin, darkness traces my truth, and is the best part of finding that my depth allows the stars to shine
