Reproduction twin ammo pouches for the M1911 Colt 45 automatic used by American troops and personnel. The Automatic Pistol Calibre .45, M1911 (1911 Model) and M1911A1 (1924 model) were the standard hand guns issued during WW1 and WWII, and the M1918 ammo pouches are designed to hold the .45 calibre rounds that they fired. The pouch is worn on the pistol belt and is attached by means of a snap on the inside of the belt loop that allows the pouch to be attached to a snap located on the belt itself. Made of tough khaki canvas and webbing, the lid is secured using two black 'lift-the-dot' fasteners. The underside of the flap is stamped ‘2298 P.B. & CO. 10-1918’. These are the late WW1 version which had the curved lower edge to the lid as opposed to the pointed triangular flap.
