Most consumer-grade 3D printers use an open spool design. This is why it is imperative to address this issue with a filament filter. -How does the EPIC CNC filament filter work? Proudly made in the USA, the CNC filament filter works to keep your 3D printer clean from lint, dust, hair, shavings, small pieces of plastic and other such particles as the sponge wipes the surface of the filament clean before it enters the printer extruder. This prevents your extruder from getting clogged and in turn saves you from expensive nozzle repair and replacements by prolonging your nozzle and extruder useful life. Moreover, if you add a few drops of mineral oil on to the sponge, it will work to lubricate the filament as it passes through it which is beneficial to relieve any extruder motor strain and is important if the filament has to travel through long tubes before it enters the extruder. -Product details: -Color: Black -Size: 1.75mm to 2.85mm/3mm -Material: Crack resistant rubber foam. -Application: Can be used with direct drive and Bowden extruders.
