Spike lavender also works amazingly well on the skin to clear up acne and fungal infections because of its antibacterial and antiseptic properties. Lavender is an evergreen plant that grows to about 3 feet and produces gorgeous lilac-colored flowers. To extract the oil, the flowers are put through a steam distillation process.
