All items are authentic stingray leather from Thailand, and are sourced as a by-product of the fishing industry. This is not embossed leather or pvc imitation leather from China. All Drumsurn products are legally imported into the US, approved by US Customs, and adhere to US Fish and Wildlife licenses and regulations. Stingray leather has historically been used for body armor and rugged protection, and has recently been used mainly for men's and women's accessories. Artificial stingray (pvc based) products are common, and are easily detectable through a simple heat test. Genuine stingray products are rare throughout the world because of limited supply with the pearly motif. Also, because stingray products are hand made from natural materials, each item is slightly different with motif size and location varying item to item. Because stingray skin comes from nature, the pearly pattern will vary slightly from product to product and no two stingray items will ever be identical.
