About DCT Wood Jig Dowel Thread Tap Die, 1-1/4 Inch X 6
Effortlessly cut 1-1/4-inch external and internal threads in wood to create a clamp, jig, toy, furniture, fixture, or novelty item with the DCT Wood Dowel Thread Tap Die, 1-1/4 Inch x 6 TPI - Threading Tool Kit, Thread Box and Steel Tap for 1.25" Threads. This threadbox and tap is designed to allow easy chip clearance and a tight-fitting, strong wood thread. Straight-grain hardwood dowels that are round (not oval) work best. Simply use a 1-1/8-inch drill bit to drill a starter hole for tapping a 1-1/4-inch thread, oil the dowel, and press down as you turn. Drill bit and oil lubricant recommended, not included. The hardwood threadbox includes 2.5-inch x 1-inch turned handles and aluminum inserts to prevent wear. This package includes a threadbox, tap, and instructions for your convenience.
