Product Description Today's workplace is a dynamic, ever-changing environment. Job security is a thing of the past, layoffs are common, and people change jobs and careers frequently. Students need to be prepared to adapt to the unexpected twists and turns they may face. CREATING CAREER SUCCESS helps students develop a self-directed, proactive, flexible plan to launch and manage their careers over the years to come, using the latest technological resources and job search strategies. Through a process of self-assessment, career exploration, and self-promotion students discover how to connect their skills, interests and values to a variety of possible careers, build relationships, and present themselves in the best possible light to potential employers. Most importantly, students are encouraged to keep their minds and options open, and to engage themselves fully in the career development process. Review "This text addresses the current need for students to take responsibility, be flexible and adaptable, and be engaged in every step of their career." "I LOVE the details that you have written in the cover letters and resumes. I really like the idea that you included several examples that would cover the wide range of students (ages 16-61) that I have in my classes. In the past, I have always shown them an example of my CV so they would know what one looks like. You have provided that in the text. This is an excellent, well done chapter. BRAVO!" "Designed for students who are ready to take action and control of their own career management, this textbook promotes not only development and exploration but also the need to be adaptable and proactive when achieving career decision-making success." "I like the career profiles with the question and answer format. What really makes this stand-out is the feedback that is included from the employers." "These real world snapshots of employee and employer are indispensable. Outstanding!"
