Lucky Bamboo can be given for luck and to light up the future. Also, certain numbers of stems are given for luck in specific areas, such as health, harmony, prosperity, advancement in business, etc. Lucky Bamboo works almost anywhere in the home; on a desk, windowsill, kitchen counter or bathroom vanity. Although they are called bamboo, these easy-to-grow plants are members of the dracaena family. They grow best near a sunny window, place next to an East or West facing window. Lucky Bamboo does not like direct sunlight. Water when the soil is dry (about once a week). If the container does not have holes, use approximately half a cup of water, adjust as needed for your environment. Do not let the Lucky Bamboo sit in overly soggy soil. Lucky Bamboo can also be grown directly in water without soil. The height at shipping is approximately 6 inches tall, measured from the bottom of the pot to the top of the plant. The Lucky Bamboo ships in premium, 5-inch white ceramic planter topped with river rock. To avoid water spillage, this container does not have holes. The Lucky Bamboo is a slow grower depending on its environment and is hardy in USDA Zones 9 or higher. Give it a boost during the warm months of Spring and Summer with a general-purpose fertilizer that is formulated for house plants. Follow the instructions on the fertilizer package for the best use. When the plant out grows the current container, it is time to repot. To repot the plant, gently remove it from its current container and place it into a slightly larger container.
