Holiday release. Petula Clark's Christmas in London is a joyous collection of yuletide nostalgia. Featuring all Petula's festive recordings from the 1950s; this stunning album includes a selection of traditional carols alongside a sprinkling of wonderful original Christmas songs, all embracing the warm nostalgia of sentimental Christmases past. Making this Christmas album extra special is the inclusion of two previously unreleased radio performances, unheard since their original broadcast. Accompanied by Joe Henderson at piano, the album opens with a delightful 1950 recording of the yuletide favorite 'Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer' and concludes with a stunning 1954 interpretation of the Rodgers and Hammerstein standard 'Some Enchanted Evening', a staple in Petula's early 1950s concert repertoire that went unrecorded (and a perfect companion to Petula's 1961 recording of the perennial R&H classic 'My Favorite Things').
