Product Description Lei Qiang performs instrumental pieces on the erhu. A two-stringed violin-like instrument, with the Shaanxi provincial song and dance troup. This collection of 19 traditional Chinese compositions captures the erhu's expressive mystical sound. About the Artist Lei Qiang (pronounced lay-chang) was born in Shaanxi Province, Peoples' Republic of China. He studied the erhu at the prestigious Conservatory of Xian. Lei Qiang toured for 11 years with the Shaanxi Provincial Song and Dance Troupe. His travels took him to every major city in China including Hong Kong and Japan. In 1993 he emigrated to Canada and recorded with the Cirque du Soliel on the Quidam album and on the new Cirque du Soleil entitled O.
