Burns Crystal are a family business who have been hand engraving crystal and galls for the last 3 decades. This finely crafted glass is a reproduction of a mid-18th century Jacobite Dram Glass. In the aftermath of the 1745 Jacobite Rebellion, followers of the outlawed Stuart cause met in secret to honour the defeated Prince Charles Edward Stuart and toasts were drunk to the "King across the water". The loyalty of the Jacobite supporters is legendary. Despite a price of £30,000 on his head - a king's ransom in 1746 - none were tempted to betray the Prince during his flight to safety in France. Please treat this glass with care and drink a silent toast to Bonnie Prince Charlie. Made from mouth blown lead free crystal, which is dishwasher safe. Approx. size; 13cm (5") H x 6cm (2.4") Dia. Gift Boxed.
