This Brennan hex head plug is a stainless steel 316 pipe fitting with male National Pipe Taper (NPT) threads for closing and terminating the end of a pipe or fitting. The plug is inserted into the pipe or fitting it is closing and has NPT threads for creating a tighter seal than straight threads. The plug has a hexagonal shaped head for increased leverage and use with a wrench during installation and disassembly. It is made from stainless steel 316 for resistance to chloride corrosion and greater corrosion resistance than stainless steel 304. This fitting meets SAE J514 specifications for quality assurance. Pipe fittings are components used for connecting, terminating, controlling flow, and changing the direction of piping in many different industries. When purchasing pipe fittings, consider the application, as this will affect material type, shape, size and required durability. Fittings are available threaded or unthreaded, in many shapes, styles, sizes, and schedules (pipe wall thickness). Brennan Industries manufactures critical flow components. The company, founded in 1953 and headquartered in Solon, OH, meets International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2008 standards and its fittings meet Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) specifications.
