About BioSpec 607 Mini-Beadbeater-16 High Energy Cell

The BioSpec 607 Mini-Beadbeater-16 High Energy Cell Disrupter is a benchtop homogenizer with a built-in safety shield and is suitable for the disruption of microbial cells, and plant and animal tissue, using glass, steel or ceramic beads (sold separately). This digital display unit has a shaking speed of 3,450 oscillations/minute and comes with a 0 to 5 minute auto-reset timer for controlled operation. It can hold 4 to 16 screw-cap microvials in a removable microvial cassette. The cassette accepts 0.5mL, 1.5mL, or 2.0mL microvials (sold separately) for micro-sample processing applications. The vials are held at a near horizontal orientation for a top-to-bottom shaking pattern as opposed to side-to-side, or vortex-like patterns, for efficient homogenization. No motor cool-down time is required between each shaking episode allowing uninterrupted operation. This benchtop homogenizer has a built-in safety shield for protection against sample leakage, and is suitable for use in laboratory homogenization processes such as polymerase chain reaction (PCR) applications, especially when used with disposable vials and beads to prevent cross-contamination. Specifications Speed 3,450 oscillations/minute Capacity 4 to 16 screw-cap microvials, 0.5mL, 1.5mL, or 2.0mL (sold separately) Sample wet weight 1mg to 400mg per vial Timer range 0 to 5 minutes, auto-reset Oscillation throw distance 0.75" Power 115V, 60Hz, 7.5amp Weight 40lb. Dimensions 12 x 16 x 10 inches (H x W x D) H is height, the vertical distance from the lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back. BioSpec Products manufactures laboratory equipment for clinical and life science applications. The company, founded in 1979, is headquartered in Bartlesville, OK.
