About Aquatic Arts 1 B-Grade Electric Blue Crayfish

One of the most colorful freshwater creatures available, the ever popular Electric Blue Crayfish must be seen to be believed! This species of crayfish possesses a gorgeous cerulean blue color that looks especially striking when the aquarium is lit by LED bulbs or full spectrum lights. Though most crayfish are reclusive, these are very active by comparison and spend plenty of time exploring the aquarium. They eat almost any meaty or plant-based foods, including leftover fish food or a pleco block. They are known to be live aquarium plant eaters, so take note before packing your tank with plants! As they mature, crayfish may behave aggressively towards other animals. It is important to provide them with hiding places such as caves or assorted PVC pipes. Due to the size of this crayfish, a 30-gallon, well filtered aquarium is the minimum size necessary for one adult. A larger aquarium can house multiple adults of similar sizes. This is a very hardy animal, but regular water changing is vital for its optimal health. It's possible to keep medium and upper-level, fast-swimming fish with crayfish, but crayfish are opportunistic feeders and will generally eat whatever they can catch. Examples of possible fish include Rasboras, Guppies, and Endlers. All of our B-Grade crayfish are simply specimens that are missing legs or claws that we offer at an extra discounted price. Loss of limbs is not permanent and happens very commonly with crustaceans. They are very healthy, of great quality, and will completely regenerate lost appendages within 1 to 2 molts (about 2 to 3 months).CARE GUIDELINES:- Temperature: 65°- 76° F (18° - 24° C) - pH: 6.5 - 7.5 - KH: 6 - 15 dKH - Minimum tank size: 30 gallons - Average adult size: 4 - 5 inches (10 - 12.7 cm) body length minus claws - Average purchase size: 2 - 3 inches (5 - 7.6 cm)
