About Amprobe CT235A Clamp Accessory Current Transformer
The Amprobe CT235A current clamp probe measures AC or DC current without touching or interrupting the circuit. The clamp has two jaws that fit around a 1.2" (31 mm) conductor to convert a high-current signal to a low-level millivolt signal so it can be read by a testing device. The zero adjust knob allows the operator to compensate for changes in output voltage due to environmental conditions. The clamp attaches to a compatible testing device, such as a digital multimeter, with a 59" (1.5 m) lead. A finger guard on the body of the meter helps protect fingers from shock. The clamp operates on one 9-volt battery (included). It weighs 0.7 pounds (320 g) and measures 8.66 x 2.2 x 1.2 inches (220 x 55 x 30 mm, H x W x D, where H is height, the vertical distance from the lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; and D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back).
