About American Educational Solar Furnace

The American Educational 4701 solar furnace is used for study of the Sun’s power. The furnace has a 12.0” diameter parabolic dish for concentrating and demonstrating solar energy, with a reflective mirror for generating temperature to heat materials in the attached copper receptacle. Copper is both ductile and malleable, conducts heat and electricity well, is resistant to corrosion, and tarnishes easily to form a protective layer of brownish-black copper oxide coating. The 4701 has a teacher’s guide with six experiments for instructional use, and is suitable for grades 3 to 12 and ages 8 to 18. Science education products incorporate applied math and science principles into classroom and homeschool-based projects. Teachers in pre-K, elementary, and secondary classrooms use science education kits and products alongside science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) curriculum to demonstrate STEM concepts and real-world applications through hands-on activities. Science education projects include a broad range of activities, such as practical experiments in engineering, aeronautics, robotics, energy, chemistry, physics, biology, and geology.American Educational Products, LLC, manufactures and supplies classroom materials and teaching tools for science and math education, as well as early childhood and active play products. The company, founded in 1986, is based in Fort Collins, CO. What’s in the Box? American Educational 4701 Solar FurnaceParabolic dishTeacher's guide
