About American Coin Treasures 100‐Year Old Gold Layered

Minted over 100 years ago, the Indian Head Penny layered in 24 karat gold gleams against the embellished wood grain handle of our Collector's Edition Pocket Knife. The Indian Head Penny was minted from 1859 to 1909 and is composed of.880 copper. The Indian Head Cent was designed by James B. Longacre. Longacre decided to use Liberty on the obverse of the coin. Legend states that he modeled Liberty after his daughter Sarah wearing a headdress of an Indian Chief who visited the mint. No one knows if Sarah was the model as James B. Longacre once stated Venus, a Greek statue, was his inspiration for the design. The obverse was first designed to resemble laurel and then was changed to oak. This extraordinary Collector's Knife features a 2 7/8 inch stainless steel blade and includes a Certificate of Authenticity.
