This 304 Stainless Steel Backsplash in 24 Gauge is a welcome and attractive addition to any kitchen. 304 is a commercial grade of stainless steel that is versatile, anti-rusting and heat resistant for general use. The brushed finish matches most stainless steel kitchen appliances. We recommend using adhesive to mount the backsplash. If you choose to use fasteners, you will need to drill your own mounting holes. This item is offered in a 18" x 30" size as well as a 30" x 30" size. The 18" x 30" size is designed for ranges that are underneath a microwave. This product ships with a protective plastic film over the front-side that must be peeled away to reveal the finished surface. This film is easier to remove when heated, such as by a hair dryer. All four edges of this backsplash are hemmed. This means that the material is folded on top of itself to double the strength and reduce flexibility, like a seam in a pair of jeans. With the combination of the white, plastic film and the folding of the material, the back-side of this product will have white borders/trim on all four sides. Again, this is the back and the white film on the front peels off.
