About Ablave 82mm ND Fader Variable Neutral Density

Use ND filters to emphasize motion, or to make busy scenes appear surreal and calm. ND filters can also be used to enable larger apertures, which can produce a shallower depth of field, or achieve a sharper photo. Eliminates overly bright & washed-out images. Ultra slim rim profile to avoid vignetting on wide angle lenses. Extra tough aluminum frame ensuring durability and jamming prevention. Wider outer optic to help reduce vignetting at wide angles. The evenly spaced indexing marks between MIN and MAX do not represent calibrated stops. They are for reference only, to be used as a density bench-mark to return to a previous setting. Explanation for "X" Cross Issue: "X" cross on images is a common issue with wide angle lenses and variable ND filters. Physics limit the capabilities of variable ND filters on wide angle lenses. When you enter the edge of the max range, the "X" issue may appear on your image. Because you are using it beyond its capability according to the laws of optical physics, which will inevitably cause this phenomenon. (Suggestion: lower down the density value gradually and reduce the aperture, until the "X" cross disappeared.) Color Shift The color of the image may vary between warm and cold. This is a common phenomenon of all variable ND filters. You need to adjust your white balance accordingly when set the ND filter to different ranges. NOTE: This Fader ND filter set is compatible with all 82mm lenses. Please verify your camera's lens thread size before ordering. Your camera's lens thread size will be marked somewhere on the lens barrel or printed underneath your lens cap. This number is always preceded by a "Ø" (diameter) symbol. For example: Ø82 = 82mm lens thread size.
