Growing up in Yakima, WA, Michael Simon Altman was as well aware of the dangers in The Devil's Playground as everyone else was. Sometimes people went into Little Carpathia and they came out again unharmed. Others were never heard from again. As an adult, Mike never went into the west side of town. There was no reason to deliberately court danger if he could avoid it, but when that foolish woman ran in front of his window wearing almost nothing more than a bright pink bikini, he had no idea that his life was about to become so complicated.When the Gypsies came to town, he was unprepared for the events that were set into motion. An innocent visit to their forest camp spun his ideal dream life out of control, turning it into a living nightmare that began with the death of his wife. One by one, the pieces of the puzzle began falling into place, setting him on a quest to discover who he is and what he lost as the day dreams of his youth slowly revealed themselves to be more important that he realized. Soon, he would come to find that each new companion holds another piece of the puzzle, but first, he must find them all.
