Softcover, 224 pages, 5.5"x7.5" Review This devotional was very intriguing to me because my daughter s family is fostering two children. With two boys of their own they could use the flexibility to work around their busy schedules. The colorful borders will be inviting for the kids to look at during the devotional time. The multicultural children on the pages are important since one of the girls is bi-racial. It will comfort heto have different races represented in the book. The memory verses are adaptable and can be shortened for the younger child. My favorite is the scrapbook and journaling options. Plenty of chat prompts can promote conversations among the family members. The bible story connection lasts only two minutes but it brings in biblical truths that are important for today s youth. It was insightful of the author to include a read aloud story concerning children with food allergies. My niece s child is usually forgotten because parents bring foods she can't eat. I really loved the numerous options for each week. I also like that there are hands-on activities for a variety of age levels. Activities are simple and easy to be carried out with minimal preparation. The beginning of the book gives suggestions for success and ways to monitor and adjust a family s devotion time to work with their own family dynamics. One of the strengths of the guide is that it is so simply laid out that an older child could help with the facilitating of the devotion. I also like the simple and colorful pictures. There is a Wrap Up at the end of each lesson that helps put closure on your family devotional time that ends each lesson well. The devotional encourages, discussion, prayer and reflection. The discussion questions are great. One benefit to the book is that you may start it at any time during the year. This devotional would work well ages 4- 11. I would highly recommend this devotional to be used in any family that is wanting a simple way to gather together and to grow in God s word that is fun, inviting and works with the busyness of life. --Christa Coe, Director of Children's Ministry North Bible Church ( Scottsdale, AZ) Matt and Noel are the parents of four wonderful kids.
