This 5052 aluminum open end blind rivet has a black color, aluminum break pull mandrel, and dome head. It meets Industrial Fasteners Institute (IFI) 114 Grade 11 specifications. The 5052 aluminum grade is corrosion resistant and nonmagnetic. This blind rivet fastens objects in applications in which the back of the workpiece is inaccessible, such as fastening objects to tubing or walls. Rivets are permanent, non-threaded fasteners that fasten objects together. They consist of a head and a shank, which is deformed by a tool to hold the rivet in place. Blind rivets also have a mandrel, which helps insert the rivet and breaks off after insertion. Hand or pneumatic tools are used to insert a rivet into a pre-existing hole. When selecting a rivet, consider the style, the materials being fastened, the head type, the diameter, and the length, or grip range. Styles include solid and blind rivets.
