About the Author Mary Jane Woodger, Ed.D., is a professor of Church history and doctrine at Brigham Young University. Born and raised in American Fork and Salt Lake City, Utah, Mary Jane has always had a great love for teaching. Dr. Woodger has written and published over a dozen books including three books about the life and teachings of David O. McKay, as well as a book on the timely subject of self-esteem. She has also authored numerous articles on doctrinal, historical, and educational subjects. Dr. Woodger's current research interests include twentieth-century Church history, Latter-day Saint women's history, and Church education. Casey Paul Griffiths is a Professor of Church History & Doctrine at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. He teaches and researches Latter-day Saint history dealing with controversial and lesser-known stories among the Saints. He holds a Master's Degree and PhD in Education from BYU, where he is a popular teacher and presenter. He has taught at Education Week, Especially for Youth, and the Mormon History Association. He has traveled extensively studying international education and Latter-day material history, working with diverse Restoration movements. He lives in Saratoga Springs with his wife and four children.
