The 3B Scientific W10604 human placenta model is used for anatomical, obstetrical, or gynecological study. The model provides a spatial portrayal of placental vessel arborisation and progression for detailed examination, and has red arteries and blue veins for visual identification. The W10604 is corrosion cast, a process that injects the arteries and veins with a dye, then corrodes the model with an alkali solution to create an accurate geometric representation, and is embedded in clear plastic for display. The model measures 8.3 x 6.7 x 1.6 inches/21.0 x 17.0 x 4.0cm (H x W x D). (H is the vertical distance from the lowest to highest point; W is the horizontal distance from left to right; D is the horizontal distance from front to back.) This model is cast from a natural specimen; product appearance, size, etc., may vary from the example shown here. Human anatomical models are typically used as educational aids in medical and scientific classrooms and office settings. Science education products incorporate applied math and science principles into classroom and homeschool-based projects. Teachers in pre-K, elementary, and secondary classrooms use science education kits and products alongside science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) curriculum to demonstrate STEM concepts and real-world applications through hands-on activities. Science education projects include a broad range of activities, such as practical experiments in engineering, aeronautics, robotics, energy, chemistry, physics, biology, and geology. 3B Scientific manufactures anatomical models, simulators, charts, and other training materials for use in scientific, medical, and patient education. Founded in 1948 and headquartered in Hamburg, Germany, 3B Scientific meets ISO 9001: 2008 standards.
