About 1962 Enco Folklore And Legends Of The United States

An appealing and colorful pictorial map of the United States illustrated with our national folklore and legends. Recognizable figures include Paul Bunyan and his great Blue Oin, x, Long Jon Silver, Moby Dick, Jonny Appleseed, the heroes of the Alamo, the Headless Horseman, and many others. Insets in, the lower left focus on the folklore and legends of Hawaii and Alaska – respectively. Vero includes text explaining all the legends shown on the map. Verso also includes a road map of the United States, and additional illustrations and text. This map was prepared by the General Drafting Company of ENCO. ENCO was a secondary retail division of Humble Oil. The brand lasted from roughly 1960 to 1973. Humble Oil was part of the ESSO (exin, xon Mobile) corporation and created by that corporation in, an attempt to comply with antitrust laws. The ENCO / Humble Oil name was most commonly associated with retail service stations in, the American southwest.
