The 1790 Food Storage Containers Glass with Lids includes 7 glass containers with 7 lids with silicone seals and locking tabs. They are designed to be leak resistant, food safe, and heat resistant.Our glass dishes are made from borosilicate glass, unlike name brand products with cheap soda lime glass. Soda lime glass is NOT heat resistant and can explode when exposed to high temperatures, whereas borosilicate glass is both heat resistant and stronger than cheap Soda Lime glass containers that you might have bought before or heard about.So because our glass food containers are heat resistant, the dishes are oven and microwave safe. In addition the dishes and the lids are fridge and freezer safe as well. Both the dishes and the lids are also dishwasher safe, but we recommend the lids to be cleaned with low heat on the top rack, to prevent warping the BPA Free plastic lids. The warping of the lids in the dishwasher can cause the silicone ring to fall out easily, so take great care when cleaning your new food safe glass storage containers.
