The texture makes them translucent but not invisible. On an angle, they may appear cloudy. But from the top, you will see the wood grain behind the glass grit. Steady Treads are a perfect compromise of decor style and safety. They look and feel like fine #80 grit sand paper. "Clear" adhesive Steady Treads are protected by a temporary brown paper backing. When stuck down, they blend in nicely with with most smooth surfaces. SIMPLE Clear treads installed by hand will typically have air bubbles trapped. That's why we have included a handy rubber roller to press out the air, making the installation process easier and improving the bond with the surface.
