WHY WE CHOOSE BROADBENTS COUNTRY HAM Broadbent's Whole Country Hams or Sliced Thick Cut Center Steaks, Breakfast Steaks, Dinner Steaks or Biscuit Slices are dry cured the old-fashioned way. Since 1909, each ham is hand rubbed with our own special cure, aged longer than most anyone else, then hickory smoked to perfection. These hams are carefully inspected to make certain that the rich, nutty aroma of a good country ham comes through. It is the same process used to win 18 Grand Champion Awards at the Kentucky State Fair. The next morning at the Kentucky Farm Bureau’s ham breakfast charity event the Grand Champion winning ham is auctioned off. Several years ago our ham sold for $2,000,000 with the proceeds going to charity, a record that has not been broken. We at Julia' Pantry want to share this special ham with you. We carefully select our key ingredients from families who have a heritage of quality products.- Soft wheat flour from a multi-generation family owned mill near our home in North Carolina- Real Churned Butter from a family owned dairy operation in Kentucky- Sweet Cream Buttermilk from a family owned dairy in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.- Corn meal and grits from a family owned mill near our home in NC, which has been in operation over 150 years.- Other ingredients where possible, are produced in the United States of America BROADBENT'S COUNTRY SAUSAGE Grandma Broadbent began selling her Hickory Smoked Sausage about 100 years ago to her neighbors in Trigg County, Kentucky. We still use her "Secret Recipe" to produce our old-fashioned tasting sausage! This country pork sausage still comes in old fashioned cloth bags and is Nitrite Free.
