Panacur C is a broad spectrum parasiticide used for treatment and removal of ascarids (Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina), hookworms (Ancylostoma caninum, Uncinaria stenocephaia), whipworms (Trichuris vulpis), and tapeworms (Taenia pisiformis). The antiparasitic action of Panacur C is believed to be due to the inhibition of energy metabolism in the parasite. For Dogs (at least 6 weeks of age) Benefits Panacur C is used to treat ascarid, hookworm, whipworm, and tapeworm infections. Active Ingredients Fenbendazole Granules Cautions This medication should not be used in animals allergic to fenbendazole. Panacur C is for use in dogs only. Do not administer to cats or a sick dog/puppy. Make sure to tell your veterinarian what other medication you are giving to your canine. The following drugs can potentially interact with fenbendazole: dibromsalan and tribromsalan. Quite often your veterinarian may prescribe two different medications, and a drug interaction may be anticipated. In this case, your veterinarian may vary the dose and/or monitor your canine more closely. Contact your veterinarian if your canine experiences any unusual reactions when different medications are given together. Allergic reactions to medications may occur. Be sure to inform VetSource and your veterinarian if your pet has any known drug sensitivities or allergies. If your pet displays symptoms of an allergic reaction, call your veterinarian immediately or go to a veterinary emergency clinic. Symptoms may include but are not limited to: swollen lips, tongue, face, airways; difficulty breathing; agitation; profuse salivation; vomiting; widespread hives and itching. Side Effects Side effects may include possible vomiting. Fenbendazole may cause hypersensitivity reaction upon the death of the parasite releasing antigens. Other side effects may occur. If you notice anything unusual, contact your veterinarian. Usage Panacur C should be administered as directed by your veterinarian. Efficacy is dependent on the correct dose level based on body weight over the appropriate treatment period. When possible, animals should be weighed to determine body weight accurately. Daily dosages must be repeated for 3 consecutive days. Panacur C Canine Dewormer has no known interactions and is an ideal complement to monthly heartworm prevention products, which may not protect against all four major types of intestinal worms.
