The Continental ContiTech Insta-Grip Black Chemivic rubber hose is manufactured for use with push-on fittings for low-pressure hydraulic and pneumatic systems at working pressures up to 300 psi. Its tube is made of Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA) Class A Chemivic (Buna-N-Vinyl) for high oil resistance, which means that its volume will change a maximum of +25% and it will retain a minimum of 80% of its tensile strength after exposure to oil. Its black cover, made of RMA Class B nonconductive synthetic rubber, will experience a maximum volume change of +65% while maintaining at least 50% of its tensile strength after exposure to oil, is Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) approved (2G-1c-14C/33) for flame resistance, and resists weathering and abrasion. This hose is reinforced with braided high-strength synthetic yarn laid at the most effective angle for the strength necessary to hold its couplings while maintaining its maximum pressure rating of 300 psi, and is capable of functioning effectively at temperatures ranging from -40 to +190 degrees F (-40 to +88 degrees C). It is rated with a minimum electrical resistance greater than one (1) megohm per inch of hose length at 1,000V DC, and can be used with a variety of coupling options (sold separately). This hose is suitable for low-pressure hydraulic and pneumatic systems in general industrial, maintenance, automotive assembly, and other applications that require resistance to oil and flame. Industrial hoses transfer or convey air or liquid in hose systems. When selecting industrial hoses, use the STAMPED method to help determine the type of hose needed:S = Size (ID, OD, and length) T = Temperature (maximum and minimum temperatures of material being transported) A = Application (industry or process) M = Material (to be conveyed, type and concentration) P = Pressure (maximum working pressure) E = Ends (type of end connectors or couplings on hose) D = Delivery method (volume and velocity)The inside diameter of the hose must be adequate to keep pressure loss to a minimum and avoid damage to the hose due to heat generation or excessive turbulence. The hose must be capable of withstanding the minimum and maximum temperatures that occur within the hose system. Some applications require specialized oils or chemicals to be conveyed through the system. In this case, hose selection must ensure compatibility of the hose tube, cover, couplings and O-rings with the fluid used. Industrial hoses are used in systems such as air compressors, automatic manufacturing operations, aircraft controls, and tire installation in industries including agriculture, mining, road construction, firefighting, and aviation.
