That piece of strip is used to protect the actual test papers. These test strips are not ph test papers, so they will not work for testing the pH of tap water. Please seal the left new papers in the plastic box provided and keep them in dry and cool places when you don't use them. Please kindly note the test strip may discolor and lose its function when exposed to air. Chlorine solution or chlorine generator not provided in this purchase.
