Four of Susan Loy's designs using the Language of Flowers have been reproduced as note cards. 3 each of 4 designs and 12 envelopes. The designs are from Susan's book,Flowers the Angels' Alphabet Designs include "Zinnia: Thoughts of Absent Friends," "Ivy: Friendship", "Lemon Geranium: Serenity", and "Language of Flowers." Zinnia quotation is by A.E. Powell: "Friendly thoughts and earnest good wishes thus create and maintain what is practically a guardian angel, always at the side of the person thought of." Ivy quotation is from Ralph Waldo Emerson: "I awoke this morning with devout thanksgiving for my friends, the old and the new." Lemon geranium has the Serenity Prayer attributed to Reinhold Neibuhr: God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference." Language of Flowers card has 20 flowers and the quotation: "The Language of Flowers was formalized during Victorian times, when flowers were chosen to represent particular sentiments. This tradition continues today when, for example, we send red roses to a loved one."
