About Ascension Stair Parts 960 48" Red Oak Box Newel Post
960 48" Red Oak Ranch Series box newel post by Ascension Stair Parts is a solid 3-1/2" core newel with an adjustable 4-1/2" pedestal. (Paint Grade versions have a 3-3/8" shank). The adjustable pedestal is a handy way to install the newel post and allow the sleeve-pedestal to cover the lag bolt holes, saving the carpenter time. Shipped with standard flat hats. Peaked-pyramid hats are sold separately. Available (Stocked) in Red Oak, Hard Maple and Poplar in Elk Grove Village, IL or Tracy, CA. These are solid newels, not hollow.
