About Some People Need Killing
One may be familiar with programs such as protective services or fostercare. One is less familiar with a particular group in the dependency continuum, child abuse investigators. When a call comes in to an abuse hotline, anywhere in this country, they are the ones who actually hit the streets to go into the home to complete an assessment often with parents who are hostile and sometimes combative. They carry notepads instead of guns and keep their wits about them even in the face of real danger, heartbreak, and agonizing frustration. This is their story. While a serious subject, it is told as a rollicking thriller laced with cops, murder, humor, and sex. Even so the reader should come away with a better appreciation for these hardworking people and the extremely important job they do.
