The Theremin combines three special features: powerful room-filling light, maximum flexibility, and a magical way to adjust light using hand gestures. The Theremin enables you to finger-paint light on your walls, as it were. The Theremin is named after a legendary musical instrument, invented by Leon Theremin in 1919. This musical instrument translated movements of the hands around an Antenna into vibrant tones. The Theremin lamp does the same with light: its light Antenna shines light to wherever you hold your hand, giving maximum freedom to create light settings that fit your own needs and wishes best. The magic of the Theremin lies within its gesture control feature. With the wave of a hand, the light shines to wherever you direct it. "With the Theremin, you simply place your hands where you want the light to go. Dimming is a movement of the hand towards or away from the Antenna of the luminaire. Simple as that. It really gives the feeling of finger-painting with light on your walls and Ceiling. It feels magical and fun, and at the same time it is a really simple way of getting exactly the light you want," says Philip about his design. The design is simple and unobtrusive, consisting of a sleek Antenna and a friendly wooden base, fitting in many styles of interiors. Despite of its sleek appearance, no compromise is done on performance: its powerful LEDs direct light in three directions (up, left and right) and produce a warm white light that fills up your space in an atmospheric and functional way.
