With the blossoming of the renaissance in the 15th century, the changes in social structure, and the adoption of wearing of the sword with civilian dress, there was an increase in the number of published fencing treatises, especially in Italy. The new breed of fencing master writing these treatises no longer taught only the nobility, but also taught the rising middle class who began to have disposable income. The purpose of this book is to acquaint the reader with a style of civilian combat and fencing taught during the sixteenth century in Bologna Italy. This style of combat was to last till the end of the century when the new methods of fence as taught by masters such as Saviolo, Giganti, Fabris and Capo Ferro took precedence.In this book, The author will present to you a look into the teachings of the Dardi School, a school of combat and fencing founded in the early fifteenth century and made famous in later centuries by the master Achille Marozzo. Complementary information will be supplied from other masters of the time period. Theory and practical technique will be introduced throughout the book.
