You can imagine a mother's surprise when she discovers that her son has been trying on her pantyhose when he was home alone. I never caught my son red-handed. But I suspected that he was going through my clothes. I could tell that new pantyhose had been worn. We both live alone together, so it couldn't have been anyone else. I finally knew for sure when I found a pair of my pantyhose—which I had been looking for—in the back of one of his drawers in his bedroom. After my initial surprise, I realized that his interest was relatively innocent. I like to wear pantyhose, after all. Should I be surprising that he likes them, too? Nevertheless, it's a delicate subject. I was afraid that if I confronted him directly, he would deny everything and it would drive us apart. What I really wanted was for him to open up to me and tell me how he felt. If he wanted to wear pantyhose at home, and be more like a daughter, that would be fine with me. I knew I had to say something, but I could never bring myself to actually speak to him. So, I wrote my son a letter after he went off to boarding school. Of course I was going to miss him while he was away, and I was hoping he would miss me, too. I decided that I would let him know that I knew his secret and that it would be okay for him to be himself at home. I said that when he got back home, I would be waiting for him with plenty of panties and pantyhose for him to wear, and that if he wanted, I would start to treat him a lot more like a daughter. Are you a mom who has caught your son wearing your pantyhose, tights, or dresses? It's actually a lot more common that you might imagine. At first I was surprised but I decided to welcome his interest with open arms. This is the letter I wrote to him to let him know it was okay and that I loved him anyway, even if he is interested in girl's stuff.
