This small Phoenix coin necklace was made using an authentic Greek, 1 Drachma nickel brass coin, dated 1973. The front of the coin features the Phoenix rising from its flames surrounded by the inscription meaning 'Greek Democracy' along with the date, 1973. The owl, on the back, was the symbol of goddess Athena in ancient Greece. Athena was patron of the crafts, wisdom, and battle, and became the patron goddess of the city of Athens. It is also considered good luck. Please note the small size of the coin and read the dimensions along with looking at the picture with the ruler. I cleaned, drilled, domed, and polished this coin and hung it from a brass cable chain secured by a lobster clasp. The coin is made from nickel and brass and has a diameter of 3/4 inch (19mm). It hangs from a 24 inch (60.9cm) brass cable chain secured by a lobster clasp. The chain can be shortened upon request. The coin you receive might not be the exact coin pictured, but will be very similar.
