HONING SOLUTION – Smith’s Honing Solution features built-in stone cleaning agents and rust corrosion inhibitors and it can be used on all sharpening stones. This non-petroleum-based honing oil will prevent your sharpening stones from clogging.

PREVENTS CLOGGING – Smith’s oil will help extend the life of sharpening stones. The built-in cleaning agents help prevent metal chips from bonding to the surface and clogging the stone. If your stone becomes clogged it will prevent proper sharpening.

TIPS - Diamond stones can be used dry, but for best results, we recommend using our solution for maximum performance. Never use an Arkansas Stone without lubrication or the pores will become clogged and cause it to not sharpen properly.

Smith’s specially formulated Honing Solution is nonpetroleum based and features built-in stone cleaning agents and rust/corrosion inhibitors. It can be used on all stones and is excellent for lubricating your Arkansas or Diamond Stone when sharpening. Never use an Arkansas Stone without some kind of lubricant, or you will clog the pores and cause it not to sharpen properly. Diamond Stones can be used dry, but we recommend that you use a lubricant for better performance.
