Product Description If you have European pin style molding knives, and need them sharpened, this molding knife sharpening jig for the Tormek Sharpening System is exactly what you need. It’s designed for these unique knives, and includes an extra universal support to ensure compatibility. The jog laps the flat side of the knife, with pin spacing’s of 24, 30, and 38 mm. It’s designed to sharpen the face of the blade, which means it can handle virtually any shape. Like our other knife sharpening jigs, there’s a lot of flexibility when it comes to adjustment and support, but then when you find the perfect position, everything locks down tight to ensure a precise and repeatable sharpening. For added stability, we’ve included a magnet, and the system is designed to get you the most edge for the least removed metal, extending tool life considerably. Sharpens the face of the blade and therefore any shapes can be done. Maximum width of blades that can be sharpened is 100 mm (4-inches). The attachment comprises a base, a knife holder, an extra Universal Support with micro adjust and two pairs of hollow pins for the knife holder. The base is mounted on an extra Universal Support and on the existing Universal Support of the machine. The base is locked with a screw. An arm, which is locked with an adjustable hand lever, stabilizes the construction. The knife is placed on the pair of hollow pins on the knife holder, while a magnet keeps the knife in place. The holder has holes to fit various knife standards. Two pair of pins come with the jig. The knife holder glides on the base, which has PTFE surfaces to minimize the friction. The knives are ground on the face, and adjusting the nut on the horizontal Universal Support sets the grinding depth.
