About Martin Roller Chain Sprocket, Reboreable, Type B

The Martin double-pitch, single-strand, type B sprocket is suitable for use with the 2080/C2080 chain. With a 1 1/2-inch, double-pitch configuration, it is available in conveyor or drive series for standard rollers. High carbon steel has high strength and durability. Type B sprockets with a hub extension on one side provides stability and allows for the use of a keyway and set screw to attach the sprocket onto a shaft. For standard rollers, the conveyor and drive series specifications have 11 to 30 teeth, pitch diameter from 2.773 to 7.215 inches, stock bore of 3/4 inch, maximum recommended bore size from one to 2 3/4 inches, hub diameter from 2 1/16 to 4 inches, length through bore of 1 1/4 inch, weight from 1.14 to 7.54 pounds. The hub diameters of 2 1/16 and 2 3/8 inch have a recessed groove in hub for chain clearance. Face width is 0.459 inch nominal. Specially made double-pitch sprockets are recommended for use with a double-pitch chain. However, ANSI standard sprockets can be used provided they have at least 30 teeth. Since double-pitch chains engage every other tooth, they can be indexed for longer sprocket life. Indexing must be done manually on sprockets with an odd number of teeth. All Martin sprockets meet or exceed ANSI standards. Sprockets are a wheel with teeth around the perimeter that meshes with a chain, track, or other perforated or indented material. Unlike gears that mesh with another gear, sprockets mesh with a chain, which then interact with another sprocket. Gears can be used to transmit power around a corner based on how they fit together. Sprockets with chains only work in straight lines. Some common benefits of chain-drive systems include minimal slippage, a fixed ratio between rotating shafts, and versatility with many different chain attachments and sprocket material selections. An example of a power transmission system is a standard bicycle, which has a sprocket and a chain to deliver power from the rider’s legs to the wheels making the bike move. Martin Sprocket & Gear started in 1951 and is in the machining, fabrication, forging, casting, and powered metal technology, and plastic injection molding of countless power transmission and conveying products for the global market.
