These potentiometers are for printed circuit board , or through hole application. Also if you are clever, you can even use these as surface mount parts. You just have to position pins where you want them before soldering

They came in a nice storage box, 20 each per value, with markings on the box. Moreover, the pots themselves were clearly marked as 101, 102 etc, meaning 10 plus 1 more zero (100 ohms) and 10 plus 2 more zeros (1000 ohms), so that's not a problem for you. You can always use a meter to read the resistance if you don't understand the markings
