About 3B Scientific U14390 Demonstration Polarimeter
For the demonstration of optical activity, determination of specific rotation, and for determining concentration for a known specific rotation. Demonstration instrument for use on a overhead projector in front of a larger audience. A yellow filter (for more precise measurement accuracy) and a polarizer are embedded in a black plastic base plate. A cell containing a solution of the substance to be investigated with 50 mm and 100 mm markings is inserted into the holder. The analyzer is situated above this set-up in a holder with rotary handle and pointer. By turning the analyzer the rotation angle can be read off an illuminated scale from +40 degree up to -40 degree with 1 degree scale division. Measures 370mm length by 330mm width by 190mm height.
