The Scientific Industries SI-P200 Series Vortex-Genie Pulse pulsing vortex mixer has a speed range of 500 to 3,000 rpm; holds up to 6 x 50mL tubes, 12 x 15mL tubes, or 24 microtubes; has digital control and LED readout of speed and process time with timed operation up to 99 minutes; and provides standard and pulsed-speed vortex mixing. The 3-inch platform with a dimpled rubber cover accepts single tubes, beakers, and flasks, and a variety of accessories (sold separately) are available to hold multiple vessels. The supplied pop-off cup accommodates single test tubes up to 40mm in diameter. The pulsed vortex mode provides more aggressive agitation than standard vortex mixing, and a programmable rest function reduces heat buildup in the vessel to protect heat-sensitive samples. This pulsing vortex mixer is used in bioscience and analytical laboratories for suspending cells and mixing reagents and samples. This mixer has an allowable ambient temperature range of 0 to 38 degrees C (32 to 100 degrees F) at 95% relative humidity. Laboratory shakers agitate liquids for biological and chemical procedures by repetitively moving the vessels holding the liquids. The types of vessels include glass or plastic bottles, flasks, tubes, and microplates. Shakers are categorized by the type of movement used, which can be orbital (circular), reciprocating, vibrating, rocking, waving (gyrating), rotating (rotisserie), or wrist-action. Typically a shaker will have analog or digital controls for setting the speed and sometimes also the degree of movement. Some shakers have the ability to incubate or refrigerate samples during shaking. Shakers are used in a variety of laboratory procedures, including hemolysis, preparation of emulsions and suspensions, staining, and cell cultivation. Scientific Industries manufactures laboratory equipment such as shakers and mixers, homogenizers, and incubators under the Vortex-Genie and Genie brands. The company, founded in 1954, is headquartered in Bohemia, NY. What's in the Box? SI-P200 series pulsing vortex mixer 3" platform with rubber cover Pop-off cup Instructions
