The BioSpec 985370-XL Tissue-Tearor is a handheld, variable-speed, homogenizer suitable for homogenizing, disrupting, or emulsifying tissue samples in liquid. This unit has a variable speed of 5,000rpm to 35,000rpm and can handle sample volumes of 1mL to 50mL with the included probe. The rotor and stator configuration draws the sample material up into the probe and repeatedly cycles it through narrow slits in the stator for rapid shearing and disintegration of the material. The probe has a 7mm stator diameter, a working length of 10.9cm, and is constructed of stainless steel 316 with fluorocarbon bushings for strength and resistance to corrosion.
