About Dynalon 143084-0001 Small Acrylic Desiccator

The Dynalon 143084-0001 transparent acrylic desiccator cabinet with hygrometer and lock has two shelves, and can be used for dry, dust-free storage at temperatures up to 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Desiccator cabinet is suitable for use in incubators, freezers, refrigerators, or at room temperature. The 10” by 7” by 8.5” cabinet has two perforated, sliding sample shelves over a third shelf, for holding a desiccant such as silica gel or activated charcoal. The airtight door needs no lubrication, and the lock on the door helps prevent unauthorized exposure of the sample during drying and storage. The LCD hygrometer has a temperature range of -58 to 158 degrees Fahrenheit with + or - 1.8 degree accuracy up to 104 degrees; humidity range is 20 to 95% with + or - 5% accuracy. Desiccators are sealable enclosures that contain drying agents, or desiccants, placed under a removable platform, to protect the contents from atmospheric moisture. Some desiccators have a stopcock, which allows air evacuation from the desiccator – these desiccators are vacuum desiccators. All desiccators are used for removing water from a sample or preserving moisture-sensitive lab consumables. Desiccators protect hygroscopic (water-attracting) chemicals and samples that react with the moisture present in humidity. They are commonly used with desiccants, such as silica gel or activated charcoal, and vacuum grease, which helps to create a good seal. Dynalon Corporation manufactures and distributes plastic lab ware and supplies under brands such as Azlon, Cowie, Kartell, and Sterilin. Dynalon was founded in 1957 and is headquartered in Rochester, NY. What’s in the Box? Dynalon 143084-0001 desiccator cabinet with lock LCD hygrometer (2) AAA batteries
