About Thermo Scientific Orion Epoxy Body ROSS Ultra
The Thermo Scientific Orion 8157UWMMD ROSS Ultra triode, combination pH electrode has an epoxy body for durability, a BNC connection with 8-pin Mini-DIN, a glass fiber junction, built-in temperature sensor with ATC, and allows the user to change the fill solution. ROSS pH triode electrodes have a built-in temperature sensor with automatic temperature compensation (ATC) for convenience, and are designed to allow the user to change the fill solution, depending on the sample requirements. The electrodes have a waterproof Bayonet Neill-Concelman (BNC) with 8-pin Mini-DIN connection and a 3 m cable, as well as a patented internal reference to minimize drift and equilibrium time. The double-junction reference system separates the sample from contact with silver ions, which means the electrode can be used with samples containing silver complexing or binding agents, such as tris (hydroxymethyl) aminomethane (TRIS or THAM), proteins, and sulfides. The electrode has a small hole, for refilling the KCl fill solution, which prolongs the life of the electrode.The Orion Ultra electrodes come with an extended warranty to 24 months, while typical electrode warranties are 3 to 12 months. pH range is 0 to 14, temperature range is 0 to 100 degrees C (32 to 212 degrees F) and body dimensions are 120 mm (length) x 12 mm (diameter). The electrode uses 3M KCl fill solution (Orion 810007). Buffer and storage solutions are sold separately. pH electrodes are used in pH meters and testers to measure the acidity or alkalinity of a substance. They are often constructed of glass, which senses hydrogen ions, and generates a millivoltage that is picked up by the filling solution and transferred to a wire that connects to the pH meter.
