About Jet-Lube AP-5 Non-Melt High Temperature Black

Flash point > 560 degree F (293 degree C). NLGI grade 2. High moly contend > 8 percent. Designed for: AP-5 was designed as high moly content nonmelting grease for applications in an extremely dry environment. Ideally suited for brick kiln ovens, ceramic tile manufacturing and high load metal to metal contact, AP-5 can be used in open or plain bearing applications and open gear or bull gear applications. Recommended lubrication: for kiln cart and open bearing applications: pump the AP-5 into the bearings extruding out the old material. For packing sealed bearings, follow the recommended practice of the bearing manufacturer. For bull gears: apply the AP-5 to the surface of the gear and allow the grease to travel with the gear teeth. Not recommended for: oxygen service. Personal precautions: wear nitrile gloves and protective overalls. Environmental precautions: do not allow it to enter drains. Spillage: scrape up bulk, then wipe up remainder with cloth. To prevent walking hazard, pick up remaining residue with diatomaceous earth. Handling: no special handling precautions necessary. Storage: do not store at elevated temperatures. Main hazards-health effects: eyes: may cause irritation. Inhalation: viscous nature may block breathing passages if inhaled. Ingestion: may cause diarrhea. Skin: for hypersensitive persons, may irritate the skin after prolonged periods of contact. Respiratory protection: none needed. Hand protection: nitrile gloves for hypersensitive persons. Eye protection: glasses, if applied to parts in motion. Body protection: overalls. Eco-certified.
